. lost little alien . by =Countess-Grotesque A Clean makeup application is seamless. Effective makeup design has us see the face in a different, unexpected way. This image shows how powerful the marriage between application and design can be.

This photo is utterly spine-tingling...there's some horrific, twisted beauty to it that makes me stare and stare yet feel afraid to be doing so at the same time.

The first thing that strikes me is the texture and colour of the skin- it's so smooth and drained of colour, a pallid, unhealthy shade of white that gives it the feel of rubber, or of skin that is real, yet definitely not human...

And adding also to this effect is the way the eyes are ringed in red-pink, hollowing out the eyes, really emphasising how strange and inhuman those are...because they really are something crazy and strange: too dark for the pupils to be discernible, so huge that hardly any whites are visible...glistening with intelligence and understanding, but completely devoid of any emotion we can recognise.

I have never seen a shot quite like this, that has managed to unnerve me to quite this degree, so I must highly commend you for that! A bizarre and truly chilling photo. <img src="e.deviantart.com/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" />
